We are pleased to report that Ethan & the Bean is growing. We are slated to serve the Morristown community in Valley National Bank’s New Jersey headquarters! The news comes at a critical time as we endeavor to create more opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities to develop skills in a supportive work environment. The future looks bright in Morristown with our involvement in this exciting new venture.

That being said, we are hiring! See below available positions and responsibilities.

General Manager

General Manager is a full time position at our second cafe location in Morristown, NJ. This role is a part of the Operations Team and is imperative to the Morristown location, and to the Ethan & the Bean brand as a whole. The General Manager will oversee the cafe in all aspects.  

Requirements

• Must have experience in hospitality, food service and retail
• A plus to have previous operational coffee shop experience
• Previous experience with the disability community is not required, but required to understand the Ethan & the Bean mission, and importance of inclusion, patience, training and acceptance of all who choose to work with us. 
• Availability to work one weekend day and be available to meet the needs of the business
• Must have excellent communication skills to encourage teammates, organization of multiple ongoing tasks and a positive customer service attitude
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs with proper technique and safety equipment provided

Responsibilities  

• Manage the day to day operations of the cafe. Including but not limited to;
  • Staffing and scheduling
  • Inventory and vendor coordination of cafe menu items and retail merchandise
  • Hiring, onboarding and training of new employees
  • Daily, weekly and monthly record keeping including payroll
  • Engage customer and staff relationships to nurture community relationships

Training and Support Team Member

The Training and Support Team Member is a part/full time position at our second cafe location in Morristown, NJ. This role is imperative to the day to day operations and culture of the cafe. They will provide training to new employees and support to neurodivergent staff for all tasks including; making and serving drinks and menu items, cleaning and restocking, communication with customers and much more. The person in this position will be required to fulfill the duties of a barista when necessary. 

Requirements

• Must have experience in hospitality, food service and/or retail
• Previous experience with the disability community is not required, but required to understand the Ethan & the Bean mission, and importance of inclusion, patience, training and acceptance of all who choose to work with us. 
• Availability to work one weekend day
• Must have excellent communication skills to work hand in hand with teammates and a positive attitude to encourage training
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs with proper technique and safety equipment provided
• Must be ok standing most of the day. This is a paced, multi task position

Responsibilities  

• Motivate and guide staff while preparing orders to ensure consistency in menu items and timeliness in serving customers
• Support the transition of down time tasks, such as cleaning dishes, tidying the dining space, refilling retail merchandise and self serve station
• This position includes the responsibilities of a barista 

Barista

Barista is a part/full time position at our second cafe location in Morristown, NJ. This role is imperative to the day to day operations and culture of the cafe. Daily tasks include but are not limited to; greeting customers, creating drinks, following recipes and creating an excellent customer experience. 

Requirements

• Must have experience in hospitality, food service and/or retail
• Previous experience with the disability community is not required, but required to understand the Ethan & the Bean mission, and importance of inclusion, patience, training and acceptance of all who choose to work with us. 
• Availability to work one weekend day
• Must have excellent communication skills to work hand in hand with teammates and a positive attitude to encourage training
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs with proper technique and safety equipment provided
• Must be ok standing most of the day. This is a paced, multi task position

Responsibilities  

• Greet customers and provide a positive experience 
• Provide drink and food menus and answer questions regarding ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Maintain stock and inventory of drink and menu items
