Training Support Team Member

LOCATION: Little Falls and/or Morristown
JOB DESCRIPTION: As the Training Support Team Member, you will be a role model of the brand, mission, and the store. Each shift you will work alongside a team of baristas to deliver well crafted products and high quality customer service. In this role you will have the privilege to work alongside individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as the ability to positively influence and guide others, grow your leadership skills, and encourage a team environment. 

This role is imperative to the day to day training, work based learning, and independence of individuals with disabilities as well as the operations and culture of the cafe. This role has the potential to be a hybrid role; when not performing direct support to individual team members, barista hours may be available. This role will be part time, with the potential of full time hours.

 QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have experience in hospitality, food service, and/or retail, 1 year minimum preferred. 
  • Previous experience with working with individuals with varying abilities is a plus, not a requirement.
    • However, one is required to understand the Ethan and the Bean mission of inclusion, patience, training, and acceptance of all.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to work hand in hand with teammates and a positive attitude to encourage training
  • Ability to muti-task and prioritize cafe specific tasks
  • Availability to work weekend days, based on the needs of the cafe 
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs with proper technique and safety equipment 
  • Able to work in continuously-standing position for five or more hours

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work alongside the managers to help develop individual
  •  trainings for staff
  • Motivate and guide staff to perform their specific job duties  
  • Support the transition of tasks (i.e., helping customers to down time tasks, such as cleaning dishes, tidying the dining space)
  • Support following checklists and other work related materials 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • This position may  include  the responsibilities of a barista,
    • Professionally greets and takes customer orders
    • Efficiently prepare a range of espresso based drinks ensuring consistent quality 
    • Educates customer by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu
    • Fluently operates POS system and collection of money 
    • Comply with health and safety regulations
    • Bus tables as necessary cleaning the Lobby area

Barista

LOCATION: Little Falls and/or Morristown
JOB DESCRIPTION: As the ETB barista, you will be a role model of the brand, mission, and the store. Each shift you will work to create and deliver well crafted products and high quality customer service all while maintaining a clean and efficient store environment. In this role you will have the ability to grow your coffee knowledge, positively influence and guide others, and work in a collaborative team environment. 

This role will be part time, with the potential of full time hours when needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prepare coffee and espresso drinks according to our menu and customer specifications
  • Prepare batch iced coffee and tea
  • Prepare and prep baked goods for the cafe as well as baking off said items.
  • Professionally greets and takes customer orders
  • Educates customer by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu
  • Fluently operates POS system and collection of money 
  • Follows standards for stocking, rotating, and storing all menu items and other products 
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/bar station on a daily basis 
  • Bus tables as necessary cleaning the Lobby area

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a coffee shop or other hospitality setting, 1 year minimum preferred 
  • Previous experience with working with individuals with varying abilities is a plus, not a requirement.
    • However, one is required to understand the Ethan and the Bean mission of inclusion, patience, training, and acceptance of all.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer
  • Has understanding of POS systems. 
  • Ability to muti-task and prioritize cafe specific tasks
  • Availability to work weekend days, based on the needs of the cafe 
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs with proper technique and safety equipment 
  • Able to work in continuously-standing position for five or more hours

Cafe Manager: Little Falls

  • Full time including 1 weekend day

Cafe Manager is a full time position at our second cafe location in Little Falls, NJ. This role is a part of the Operations Team and is imperative to the Little Falls location, and to the Ethan & the Bean brand as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have experience in hospitality, food service and retail
  • A plus to have previous operational coffee shop experience
  • Previous experience with the disability community is not required, but required to understand the Ethan & the Bean mission, and importance of inclusion, patience, training and acceptance of all who choose to work with us. 
  • Availability to work one weekend day and be available to meet the needs of the business
  • Must have excellent communication skills to encourage teammates, organization of multiple ongoing tasks and a positive customer service attitude
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs with proper technique and safety equipment provided

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Manage the day to day operations of the cafe. Including but not limited to;
    • Staffing and scheduling
    • Inventory and vendor coordination of cafe menu items and retail merchandise
    • Hiring, onboarding and training of new employees
    • Daily, weekly and monthly record keeping including payroll
    • Engage customer and staff relationships to nurture community relationships
