At Ethan & the Bean, every detail of our mission has meaning—including our Wicked Wear merchandise.

The bold skull tattoo logo featured on our Wicked Wear line represents resilience, strength, and transformation. This imagery is deeply personal and rooted in the journey of our namesake, Ethan.

As a young boy, Ethan faced a significant medical challenge. After undergoing major surgery on his legs and feet, he required orthotics that reached up to his knees—worn daily for nearly four years. During this difficult time, Ethan couldn’t express himself through words, but he could express himself through spirit and attitude. When it came time to choose the design of his orthotics, we chose the skull and crossbones—a symbol of defiance, toughness, and grit.

That symbol became a source of pride and empowerment—not just for Ethan, but for all of us who watched him face life’s challenges with a silent strength. What began as a simple design choice evolved into a powerful reminder that even the toughest battles can be faced with boldness, bravery, and a little style.

Today, the skull remains part of our identity. It honors Ethan’s journey, reflects the courage of all individuals with disabilities, and reminds us that what may look different or “wicked” on the outside is often a source of deep purpose and beauty on the inside.
